Griffith University engaged iQ Construct to remove an existing escalator from the Health Centre Building (G40) at the Gold Coast Campus. We replaced it with a grand staircase, servicing the level 3 main plaza, and level 4 lecture theatre and clinics.
The staircase is a concrete construction, clad with a Jurparana granite tile. The staircase is illuminated by weatherproof recessed downlights to the handrail and strip lighting to Caspian honed concrete planters and stair edges, with foliage adding a burst of freshness to the seating area. The Health Centre Building stairs provides access to in excess of 300 students and visitors daily.
