iQ Construct were engaged by the Logan City Council for the Early Works Package of the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre upgrade. The project works included the construction of a new 70 bay car park and associated infrastructure, service relocations, street lighting, landscaping, and the demolition of the existing Beenleigh Brass Band Building.
This complicated civil works project was expertly managed by the iQ Construct project team. Latent conditions identified very early in the project included rock excavation, asbestos & contaminated soils removal, diversion of an existing NBN structure running through site, and inground water table seepage; and key to this project was the installation of a AtlanBasin® modular precast bioretention system for storm water filtration.
The indoor pool facility remained fully operational for the duration of the works, requiring particular attention to maintaining safe and compliant access to the existing indoor pool facility at all times.
Despite the project obstacles, and multiple design changes throughout the project, this council infrastructure renewal project was delivered to program, to a very happy client.
