The effect of the Brisbane Olympics in 2032 will soon start impacting South East Queensland in really positive ways, however, there will always be challenges when hosting the largest event in the world and that’s why last Friday iQ Construct invited General Managers from many of the top Queensland Hotels along with industry peak body professionals from the Queensland Hotels Association to hear from Andrew Hopper, Deputy Director-General, Tourism Recovery, Olympic Engagement and Legacy on the learnings from other major international events and other Olympic host cities.

Having worked in both the public and private sectors managing major international event bids and managing major tour events. Andrew Hopper is well versed in working with stakeholders to find new ways of working together while overcoming roadblocks along the way.

We really appreciated Andrew’s insights from both private industry and Government perspectives, which sparked a vibrant and fascinating conversation about one of the most exciting and transformational events Australia has seen in over 20 years.

Thank you to the fabulous team at Ovolo Hotels The Valley and Za Za Ta for putting on the most spectacular lunch.
